The reason I'm going to liken myself to the Sun is not because I think the universe revolves around me. Quite the contrary. My perspective about the sun is a bit different.
I'm the sort of person who happens to have a cordial relation with almost everybody around me. It's almost too difficult to get close to me. Just like you risk getting burnt if you try to get too close to the Sun, you risk getting hurt if you try to get too close to me. You could maintain your distance and we'd get along fine. You know, like the planets revolve around the sun at a parallel distance.
You might either find me good or bad depending upon the angle and distance from which you're viewing me. That doesn't make me two-faced. It makes me more than just one-dimensional. It's totally on you, how you look at it.
At some point or the other, we aspire to reach the Sun, and all that it represents. But hardly anyone does because it has reached a level where few can survive. You could try to be me but you wouldn't be too successful at it. Not because I'm great, but because being Me is what I, and only I, am best at.
You could gaze at the Sun, but beyond a few minutes, you'd be dazed. You could gaze at me, my soul, my heart, but beyond a certain limit, you'd be dazed. Again, I repeat, I'm not being boastful. I'm not your usual, every other person. I'm ME, faults and all.
You'd think the Sun, perched high, would be content where it is, sans competition, sans company. But you'd be wrong. Have you ever considered this. The Sun might tire of being at the center. It might crave some company. It might want to get close to others without burning them. It might want to just vanish the parallel distance and all that it stands for. For once, it might want to concede control to someone else. For once, it might want to be just an ordinary star.
